Lorem Ipsum, also known as scrambled text or dumb metatext, is a dummy text commonly used in the field of printing and typesetting. Since an anonymous printer deliberately scrambled a box of printed fonts to create a sample book of typefaces, Lorem Ipsum has been used as a standard text in this field since the 15th century.
Not only did it last for five centuries, but it also passed the challenge of electronic typesetting, but its prototype has survived to this day. In the 1960s, the company "Leatraset" published paper on which the passages of Lorem Ipsum were printed, and its use became widely available. Recently, the desktop publishing software "Aldus PageMaker" has brought Lorem Ipsum into the public eye in the same way.
Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It dates back to a classic Latin work dating back to 45 BC, giving it more than 2,000 years old. Richard McClintock, a professor of Latin at the University of Hampden-Sydney in Virginia, once noticed in the passage of Lorem Ipsum a very obscure Latin word, "consectetur", and through this word, he examined the original text of the classic literature related to it, and Professor McClintock unearthed this unquestionable source. Lorem Ipsum begins in chapters 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of Cicero's "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The End of Good and Evil) in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on moral theory that was very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum reads: "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet.." Excerpted from Section 1.10.32.
